Boston Fire Department Responds to 2 Alarm Fire in Recycling Center

The second, 2 alarm fire in as many days, kept Boston Firefighters busy Thursday.

At 11:20 am units responded to 24 Bunker Hill Industrial Park in Charleston with smoke showing.  A 2nd alarm was struck right away.  Although it ended up being a large trash fire, inside the building, the building had no windows.  This caused significant smoke conditions.  The work was labor intensive as all the trash had to be pulled apart with rakes.

Roof crews opened up as many as 20 skylights for ventilation.  5 firefighters were transported for non-life threatening injuries.
